Richard Hooper

Richard Hooper’s work is abstract, geometric and minimalist. Through directly exploring the relationship of mathematics and art, Hooper considers notions of the sublime, aesthetic ideals, and platonic objectivity. His work using Computer Aided Design (CAD) and laser cutting methods challenges traditional notions of sculpture and the role of the sculptor. Hooper resides in Liverpool where he is an Associate Professor of Digital Design in the Fine and Applied Art Department at Liverpool Hope University.
